Since the 17th century, carousels are important parts of funfairs and amusement parks. In time, some of them became an important part of a place that they are located at so they became protected by the state.
The C. W. Parker Carousel is a carousel built some 100 years ago and that could end up in dozens of private collections but it was saved by a group of carousel lovers. Today it still works and reminds people of the times long gone.
